Welcome to Independent Social Science Research (ISSR)
ISSR is an independent non-partisan institution to promote critical social science research on current social issues and based in the Netherlands. It focuses on topics such as welfare and well-being, inequality, social change, political decision-making and activism, civil rights, transnational issues and international cooperation. This includes maintaining contacts with colleagues and researchers of various (professional) disciplines at the domestic and international level. ISSR was founded by senior academic researcher, historian and social scientist H. (Eric) J.H. van der Kooij who has published various articles on above mentioned issues and who is the author of the three volume standard work Drifting Citizens: The state of despair; Pathology of a disoriented society (Blacklabel Publishing, 2020).
